Marlin J. "Moxie" Rademacker, 68, of Guttenberg died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1981, at St. Joseph's Unit, Mercy Heath Center, Dubuque, where he had been a patient following an auto accident on Sept. 6.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, at St. John Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Pastor L.R. Lechner. Burial was in Guttenberg City Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Vernon Heck, Owen Nading, Donald Garlow, Bill Meskimen, Mack Hackett and Dennis Lonning.
Mr. Rademacker was born July 15, 1913, at Guttenberg, a son of John and Augusta (Dittmer) Rademacker. On Aug. 14, 1947, he was married t Greeley to Velma Louise Sherman, who preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 1980. He was a veteran of World War II and was owner and operator of Moxie's Tavern in Guttenberg for 36 years.
Military honors were accorded by the Guttenberg Amvets and Legion.
He is survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Hinsenbrock of Clermont; one stepson, Duane Smock of Portland, Ore.; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and one brother, Norman of Miami, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Vernon Rademacker.
