Elkader Register, Thur., 31 Dec. 1925. Strawberry Point column.
Christmas days was cheery in most homes but death entered the Harry Hammond home and took from them one of their twins, Eva, aged two years. The little one had been sick with scarlet fever but not thought dangerous and was able to play. Apparently better and during the night she passed away owing to the disease. No funeral service could be held. Rev. Turner officiated at the grave. Interment was made in our local cemetery.
