Little Darleen Schroeder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schroeder, of Jefferson township, passed away at the home of her parents on Sunday, December 13, 1925, after a few days illness and at the age of 2 years, 11 months and 22 days. Little Darleen was born in Jefferson township, Clayton County, Iowa, on December 18, 1922. She was the sunshine of the home. All that loving hands could do and medical aid could suggest was done for her during her illness to save her life, but all failed when the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond where there is Joy and happiness forever. Her untimely death is deeply mourned by her parents, one brother, her grandparents and numerous other relatives by whom she will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in this city on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Emil Lehne officiating. The little body was laid to rest in the City cemetery. The family has the sympathy of all in this community.
