Railway Sued for a Death.
Dubuque, April 25 —George Greig, administrator, the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway Company, is the title of a suit entered in the Federal Court to-day. It is brought for the killing of George Reed, yardmaster, at North McGregor, March 18, 1896. Damages claimed, $20,000.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 30, 1861 but that he died March 12, 1896. He is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

George Reed, who held the position of night foreman of the R.R. yards in North McGregor, while uncoupling cars Thursday evening fell and was crushed to death, the wheels passing over his body at the waist. The funeral occurred in the Lutheran church Monday at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Gruber officiating. He was 35 years old, and leaves a wife and two little daughters. His sister was here from Chicago to attend the funeral. Mr. J. A. Winigar, who took Mr. Reed's place, was run over Sunday night, losing an arm and a leg.
