Cyril B. Miller, one of this communities prominent farmers and most highly respected young men, passed away at his home in Jefferson township on Friday morning, November 13, 1925, after several days illness, and at the age of 30 years, seven months and 29 days. Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, on Mar. 14, 1895, where he spent his entire life. He attended St. Mary's parochial school in this city and graduated from same. On November 20, 1923, he was united in marriage with Miss Pauline Haag at Whittemore, Iowa. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm in this township. Cyril B. Miller was a young man who stood for honesty and righteousness at all times and therefore had won the respect of all in this community. He was a true Christian in every respect, always ready with heart and hand to do acts of kindness for his family and friends and in death this community loses one of its most worthy young men and progressive farmers. All that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for him during his illness to save his life, but all failed when the Angel of Death called him to the other better world on last Friday morning. He was a kind and loving husband, brother, son and friend. The untimely death of a good and true young man is deeply mourned by his widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Miller, three sisters, the Misses Beatrice, Irene and Hattie Miller, his grandmother, Mrs. Anna Albers, all of Guttenberg, and numerous other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church in Guttenberg on Monday morning, Rev. H. J. Krieger officiating. The body was laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends. from far and near.
