Elkader Register, Thur., 27 Aug. 1925.

Jeruselum my happy home name,
ever dear to me !
When shall my labors have an end,
in joy and peace and Thee ?
Jeruselum my happy home !
My soul still pants for thee;
Then shall my labors have an end,
When I, Thy joys shall see !

This was the decisive impression we received when our beloved sister passed away on Monday, August 17th at 4 o'clock p.m. God came and called her away to that land where there is no Gethsemane nor Golgotha no harm nor haste.

Mrs. Wilkelmina Caroline Marie Wilker, nee Voss, our departed sister's cradle stood in the old country. She was born at Medow Pommerania, Germany, September 16th, 1846. Over there she was baptized and confirmed on March 24th, 1861, in the country church at Leipen. 1862 our departed sister came together with her dear parents to Garnavillo Twp. February 25th, 1864, she married Mr. Henry Wilker who passed away January 14th, 1903. This union was blessed with 13 children, 4 preceded her in death, namely; a deadborn child; Mina Wilkar, 3 years ago; Henry Wilker, 14 years ago; and Mrs. Louise Taake, 1 year ago. Our beloved sister leaves to mourn 9 children and one step-daughter, namely; Mrs. Katherine Maehl, Read Twp.; Mrs. Annie Jutting, Bruce, South Dakota; Mr. George Wilker, Farmersburg Twp.; Mrs. Mary Lenth, Monona, Iowa; Mrs. Sophia Gransow, George, Iowa; Mr. Fred Wilker, Read Twp.; Mr. John Wilker, Read Twp.; Mrs. Ida Breitsprecher, Read Twp.; and her step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Suddendorf, Monona, Iowa. Furthermore 59 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren shed burning tears before the coffin of their beloved grandma. Lots of other relatives, friends and neighbors are going to mourn this deceased soul. January 17th of this year was it 59 years when she resided in just the same house where she was called away. She lived together with her son, John Wilker and his family, 20 years. Surely a blessed time ! Her physical condition was always good and strong until the last year. Then she grows little by little weaker and weaker. And since July 28th of the present year our departed sister was compelled to spend her time in bed until her departure. A special comfort for her during her illness was the presence of her niece, Mrs. Mary Schiefelbein. Our departed sister was also one of the founders of our Ladies Aid Society which had to bid her a last Farewell. Her pastor Rev. Wm. Wuestenberg spoke true words of real comfort in the mourning house, in the church and at the grave. "Mother Wilker" reached the age of 78 years, 11 months and 1 day.

Interment was in the old cemetery of the Zions Lutheran Church at Clayton Center, Thursday, August 20th.

May our departed sister see the Dawn of Eternity.
