Mrs. Minnie Schaub, nee Neubecker, was born in Germany on August 10th, 1857, and was baptized and confirmed in the church there. In 1883 she came to America with her uncle and aunt, and the following year, on August 16, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. Traugott Schaub at Garnavillo. The young couple moved to a farm in Volga township where they made their home for 41 years. Their union was blessed with nine children.

Mrs. Schaub had always enjoyed the best of health until she was taken sick in May. She passed away on Monday morning, June 22nd, at 3 o'clock, at the age of 68 years, _ months and 12 days, deeply mourned by her husband and nine children, Mrs. Marie Straus, of Guttenberg; Fred, of Garber; Mrs. Anna Maier, of Volga township; Otto, of Fredricksburg, Iowa; William and John at home; Mrs. Caroline Bauer, of Volga township; Mrs. Minnie Eggerth, of Ganavillo township; and Mrs. Martha Lewin, of Jefferson township; 33 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church, Thursday afternoon, Rev. K. Wm. Braun officiating. Four granddaughters, Marie Straus, Rose Schaub, Verda and Grace Maier, acted as flower girls. Interment in the new cemetery. - Garnavillo Tribune.
