Elkader Register, Thur., 09 Apr. 1925. Strawberry Point column.
Friends were shocked Friday morning when it was learned that Park Buckley had passed away during the night. They knew he was sick but last reports were he was improving so as to be up and around the house. Thursday his heart bothered him which was the cause of his death. Funeral services were held at the Buckley home east of town conducted by Rev. Maxwell of the Congregational church assisted by Rev. True of Edgewood an old friend of the family. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery. Mr. Buckley was an earnest and active worker in the Congregational church and Sunday School and always attended whenever he could. Besides his wife and daughter Mrs. Harriet Hall of Leroy, Minn., he leaves to mourn his loss his aged mother, Mrs. Helen Buckley, and five sisters, Mrs. Sarah Taintor of Florida, Mrs. Eva Newberry of this place, Mrs. Jessie Alderson of Stalney, Wis., Mrs. Mary Alderson of Dubuque and Miss Helen Buckley of this place, besides three grandchildren and a countless number of friends. He has gone from us but may his memory be cherished by all who knew him.
