Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Jan. 1925. Strawberry Point column.
The remains of Mrs. George Edwards of Sturges, Mich., came last Saturday morning. Funeral services occurred Sunday afternoon at the home of her mother, Mrs. Rosa Schug, conducted by Rev. Fritschel, pastor of the Lutheran church. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery. Mrs. Edwards, nee Miss Minnid Schug, was well known here, she having spent her girlhood days and graduating from our public school with the class of 1898. After completing her school work she taught for a number of years after which she took up nursing, which profession she followed until her marriage. Mrs. Edwards health has been poorly for over a year when she submitted to an operation and other complications set in from which she never fully recovered and death relieved her from suffering last Thursday. She leaves besides her heart-broken husband and sorrowing mother, one brother, R. W. Schug of this place; and four sisters, Mrs. Rose Hedges and Mrs. Anna Fuehr of Cedar Rapids, Miss Sophia Schug of this place and Mrs. Augusta Burton of Cal., and other relatives and friens to mourn her death.
