Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 10 Dec. 1897. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Mrs. John Pilkington died at Littleport Monday afternoon, and was buried at Halls cemetery Wednesday. For many years the deceased lived near Elkport and was a lady highly respected for her many noble qualities. The many friends of the family sincerely sympathize with them in the loss of a kind and noble mother.

(Note: WPA records indicate Elizabeth Pilkington, 1832 - 1897, buried in Mt. Harmony cemetery.)
