Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 26 Nov. 1897. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Mrs. Margaret Schecker, wife of Wm. Schecker, died Friday, Nov. 19th, 1897, after a lingering illness. The deceased was a lady of rare worth and was greatly beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a husband and two children to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate wife and mother. The funeral was held Sunday and was one of the largest ever held in Elkport. Rev. Dullard officiated. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
