Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 19 Nov. 1897. McGregor column.

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Shurtzman mourn the loss of their only daughter, a girl of nine years, who died Saturday at their home in Northtown. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Monday afternoon and was largely attended.

Note: Record of Deaths, Clayton County names her as Evelyn C. Schurtzman, age 9 years, born Allamakee county. Buried Mendon twp.
