Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 19 Nov. 1897. Elkport and Vicinity column.

Mrs. Johnson, a former resident of this township, died at Dubuque Friday. Her remains were brought to this place Monday for burial. The deceased was about ninety years of age.

The Dubuque Herald, 11/14/1897:

Mrs. Johnson died at the West Dubuque Asylum yesterday. Undertaker Bennett will foward the remains to Elkader.
