Elkader Register, Fri. morning, 12 Nov. 1897. Local Scrap Bag columns.

Herman Rust died at the county insane asylum last Friday morning. Deceased was about 20 years of age, and came from Guttenberg. He had been an inmate of the asylum some three years.

On Friday Nov. 5, at the county insane asylum occurred the death of Herman Rust, aged 25 years. He was an inmate of the asylum for a number of years being subjected to epileptic fits. He leaves a widow mother, two brothers and four sisters. He was raised in Guttenberg. The funeral took place Sunday, Rev. Janzig being the officiating clergyman.
