Mrs. Joseph LeCour passed from this earth on the 2d inst. She was quite an old lady and leaves an aged husband and a family of grown children to mourn the loss of one of the best of wives, and a most kind and indulgent mother. The funeral was held Monday in the Catholic church and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery near town. May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Lucy LeCour.
On Saturday, Oct. 2, 18997, at four o'clock, occurred the death of Mrs. Lucy LeCour, near Littleport.
Lucy Colburn was born near Quebec Canada, June 2, 18_7, where she resided with her parents until her marriage with Joseph LeCour Feb. 22, 1845, when she wet to New York, coming to Iowa in 1857 settling near Edgewood. They spent the years between 1880 and 1891 in Dakota, coming back to Iowa in 1891 they settled on a farm near Littleport where she remained until her death.
She leaves an aged husband and four daughters to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. Her daughters are Mrs. John Burdine of Dakota, Mrs. James Smith of Minneapolis, Mrs. H. T. Hawley and Mrs. S. Bacon of Edgewood.
Mrs. LeCour has been a member of the Catholic church from childhood. She has always lived a devout Christian life and died trusting in her Saviour. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Littleport and many old friends and neighbors followed her to her last resting place at the Catholic cemetery at Littleport. The bereaved husband and daughters have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
