Phillip Chillson, eldest son of Mary and Sumner Chillson, died at Lansing, Minn., April 18th, 1897, of spinal meningitis. He was born in Sperry township March 7, 1876. He removed with his parents to Lansing, Minn., where he united with the M.E. church and became one of the most active members of the Epworth League. His last words to his mother were "Trust in the Lord and believe his Word." The League of that place made a badge of tissue paper of their colors, and also gave some beautiful flowers. His remains were brought to the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas McCrea at this place, where on Wednesday, April 21st, at 10 a.m., Rev. J. S. Crousaz spoke words of comfort on the resurrection.
