DIED - Hannah Banze*, Wednesday Jan. 22, 1902. She was 32* years of age. Services were held at the late residence, Rev. Dutton officiating. She was laid to rest in the Giard cemetery. Mrs. J.C. Beede and Martin Ryan of Waukon and Mrs. Strube of West Superior were present and paid their last respects to their sister.

Notes:
-Surname spelling on Ed's gravestone is BONZE-Clayton Co. Register of Deaths, Vol I, pg 25, gives age 42 at death. Cause of death: childbirth. Her age at death according to age at 1st marriage in 1885 (22y) would make her DOB ca1863.
-Her 1st marriage on 06/23/1885 is recorded in the Return of Marriages for Clayton co.:
J.P. Skipworth, age 42, b. KY, father John Skipworth, mother Annie Scott, no. of groom marriages 2
Hannah Ryan, age 22, b. Waukon, IA, father Thomas Ryan, mother Mary Morrison, no. of bride marriages 1-Hannah remarried to Edward Banze (correct spelling: Bonze) in Prairie du Chien, WI in early Jan. 1902 and died later that month, January 1902, in childbirth.
-A record on Find a Grave, but no gravestone photo or source, indicates she's buried in Evergreen cemetery, Prairie du Chien, WI. It is most likely that she's buried in Council Hill cemetery with her 1st husband or in the Giard cemetery as indicated in the obituary. Verification is necessary.
