Last Friday afternoon, while Mr. Conrad Hawk* was in town, he was stricken with a stroke of paralysis. He was taken to the Blake House and died in the afternoon. Saturday the remains were taken to his home on Cox Creek and the funeral occurred Monday, Rev. Fuehr officiating. He leaves an aged companion and several children. Another old settler and honored citizen has gone.
