At the family residence in Highland township, on Friday April 6th, Margaret, the beloved wife of John Boland passed away, in the 85th year of her age. Mrs. Boland was born Dec. 20th, 1815, in County Clare, Ireland. In their native land in 1845 she was united in marriage with John Boland. In 1849, with their oldest son James, they came to America, settling in Massachusetts, and in 1861 coming to Clayton county settling near Littleport, and about 1864 moving to Highland twp. Seven sons and one daughter were born to them, of whom four sons, James P., John L., Thos. A., and Christ. M., with the aged father survive. The departed leaves behind her to comfort those who mourn, their memory of a Christian woman, an affectionate mother and a beloved and faithful wife and companion. She has fought the good fight and has gone to receive her reward, in a short time there will be a reunion in the better land.

The funeral was held on Monday last at St. Joseph's church services being held by Rev. Father Reiley. May she rest in peace.
