Elkader Register, Thur., 12 Apr. 1900. Garnavillo column.
Lizzie, wife of Ephraim Joles, died Monday forenoon after an illness of about a week. She and her husband and daughter together with Dick Joles and family have been camping for the past winter in the Werges grove and were about ready to leave for their trip to St. Paul and other places when the deceased took sick, and soon after was called to journey with those above. The body is to be shipped Thursday to St. Paul, where it will be placed in the city vault until preparations are made for burial. She was very sympathetic and kind to everybody, winning the affection and respect of all with whom she became personally acquainted. Her death is mourned by a devoted husband, a loving child, three step-children, and many other relatives and friends. We extend our sympathy.
