Mrs. Amelia Ross died at her home in Volga City, April 4th, 1900, aged 22 years, 2 months and 17 days. Amelia Macklenberg [sic] was born in Germany, January 17, 1878. She moved with her parents to this country when she was about nine years old and lived in Chicago a few years. About ten years ago she came with her parents to Clayton county, where they have since resided. Six years ago she married Lois (Louis ??) Ross. To this union were born three children, two of whom with the husband are left to mourn her departure.
Mrs. Ross has been in poor health for the past year, and a constant sufferer for the past six months. Consumption was the cause of her death. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother and showed great patience during her sickness and troubles. The funeral was held from the M.E. church on Friday, April 8th, at 10 a.m. Interment in the Volga cemetery.
