Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Feb. 1900. McGregor column.

The wife of Henry Brock died Tuesday morning after an illness of several months. About two years ago her little girl died of consumption, and the mother has since had the disease develope in her, and finally succumbed. She leaves three little girls, a son, and husband to mourn her death. Her maiden name was Cole, and several brothers and sisters are left. The funeral was conducted Thursday by Rev. M. H. Smith, of the Methodist church, of which she has long been a faithful member.

Note: Henry Brock is aka Hiram Brock. His wife per 1880 census is Orissa. The 1900 census enumerates him as a widower living with 70 y/o Sarah Brock, his mother & his daughters Alta and Clarissa ages 9 & 6. The other children are not in that household.
