Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Jan. 1900. Local News column.

Mrs. Phillip Keenan, an old resident of this place and Highland twp. died Saturday, Jan. 20th, at the residence of her daughter Mrs. Patrick Shields, of Dunlap, Iowa, at the age of 68 years. Her remains arrived here Monday, accompanied by her sons John, Phillip and Frank, and her two daughters. The deceased was a woman of many sterling qualities and held in high esteem by all who knew her. The funeral was held from St. Joseph's church. Five sons and two daughters mourn her departure.

Note: Marriage records (ancestry.com) of several of her children name her as nee Margaret Dulon or Dolon. The 1885 obit of Philip Keenan names her as nee Margaret Dolan.
