Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Dec. 1922. Volga column.

Miss Eunice Keiholtz was born in Tiffin City, Ohio, Sept. 2, 1855. She was one of a family of seven children of whom only two are left, William Henry Keiholtz of Stockton, Kansas, and Hamilton Pratt Keiholtz of Volga. Miss Keiholtz was a maiden lady and always remained at home. After the death of her father, which occurred on Mar. 08, 1889, she and her mother lived together until her mother also passed away July 30, 1909. Since that time she has lived alone until being in feeble health. She went a few weeks ago to live with her brother Hamilton, at whose home she quietly passed away on the eve of Dec. 20, 1922. Her parents were well and favorably known lived in and near Volga for about 50 years. Soon after taking up their residence here the family united with the Methodist church and always remained faithful members of the same. Eunice was a true Christian consistent and enjoyed attending divine services whenever her health would permit. She was an invalid for many years, carefully attended and cared for, but as her mother aged and health declined, Eunice prayed earnestly that she might be given strength to care for her. Her prayers were answered and she was permitted to faithfully and lovingly care for her mother to the end. Miss Eunice had many lovable qualities. Those who knew her best, loved her best. Besides her two brothers there are four nephews, Edgar and Lester of Volga, Lynn of Stanwood, Ralph Vincent Keiholtz of Kansas. The nieces are Alta May Tomkins and Leta Meyers of Volga and Miss Maud Keiholtz also of Kansas, besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held in the Methodist church Friday afternoon, Rev. H. A. Crum officiating, interment in Hill Crest cemetery.
