Mrs. Mary Jewett, who suffered a paralytic stroke Friday, July 14th, past away last Wednesday evening having never fully regained consciousness. She is survived by her two sons, William at home and Co. Supt. A. E. Jewett of Independence. Her husband, Morris Jewett, died a few years ago, and a son, James Monroe Jewett, was killed by a train, June 14, 1897. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Kirbry, pastor of the M.E. Church, after which the remains were laid to rest beside the beloved ones in our beautiful cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the two sons in the loss of their dear mother.
