Elkader Register, Thur. 18 May 1922. North Buena Vista column.
Christopher Tashner died at his home here Tuesday after a long illness. He was born in Germany eighty-seven years ago and has resided on the same farm here since 1865. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Clary Lund and John Taschner of Dubuque, and Carl and Minnie Taschner of this place, at home. The funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon at three o'clock conducted by Rev. George Zillinger and buried beside his wife at Ball Town Cemetery. He had a very large funeral which goes to show that he was respected by a great number of people and a faithful number of the Lutheran Church.
(Note: The surname Tashner / Taschner was spelled both ways in the article, as shown here.)
