Louisa Ellen Kriebs, wife of George Kriebs died at her home in Elkport, Iowa, on Friday, April 1st, 1922, aged 61 years, six months and twenty-seven days.
Luisa E. Cook, was born at Elkader, Iowa, September 4, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Cook. She was united in marriage to George Kriebs at Elkader on the 14th day of November, 1877, and to this union five children were born - Frank D., of Beresford, S.D.; Asa G., of Elkport; Vera L. Younkman and Harold M., of Elkport. Gertrude H. McTaggert preceded her mother in death at Rochester, Minn., on April 16, 1919. She also leaves to mourn her departure two brothers and one sister - Al Cook, of Elkader; Oliver Cook, of Kansas; and Waitstel Rolfe, of Denver, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.
In the year 1878 Mr. and Mrs. Kriebs moved to Elkport, where deceased has since resided, except for about three years when she resided at Carroll, Iowa.
The deceased has been a sufferer with diabetes for the past ten years and although every effort was made to retard the progress of the disease, the Angel of Death claimed its own.
The life of Mrs. Kriebs is an open book; to know her was to love her, she was a friend to everybody and everybody was her friend.
She was a good mother and a kind and loving helpmate, whose place can never again be filled. The sincere sympathy of all who knew Mrs. Kriebs is extended the bereaved family in their affliction.
The funeral took place Tuesday, services being conducted by at the Catholic church with the Rev. Minogue, Murtaugh and Kriebs officiating.
