J. F. Taake, well known to many of our readers, died at his home in Des Moines, Wednesday, February 8th. Mr. Taake at one time was interested in the organization of the Mystic Foilers having spent considerable time in this vicinity, in the interests of that organization. He was appointed Insurance Commissioner of the State of Iowa by Governor Harding in January, 1918, filling out the unexpired term of Emory H. English, resigned; holding this office from January 6th, 1918, to February 3rd, 1919. Mr. Taake is a cousin of Fred Taake of this city. The body will be taken to Monona, his former home, for burial.
