Elkader Register, Thur., 05 Jan. 1922. Strawberry Point columns.

Addie A. Jordan, daughter of Lemuel and Eliza Jordan, was born at Sycamore, Ill., on May 30th, 1874. When five years of age, she with her parents came to Iowa and made their home at Strawberry Point, where she resided until her marriage to John W. Cherry, at Manchester, Iowa, on June 8th, 1___. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Cherry resided in Fayette County until 1905, when they made their home in Spooner, Wis., until 1918, when they moved to Parma, Mo., remaining there till September, 1921, when they returned to Iowa, locating at Riceville, which was their home at the time of her death. Mrs. Cherry had not been in good health for some years. About two weeks ago she went to a hospital at New Hampton for treatment and submitted to a surgical operation from which she did not rally, and on the morning of Thursday, December 29th, her spirit peacefully took its flight, aged forty-seven and one-half years. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cherry: two daughters, Miss Ethel Cherry of Mankato, Minn., and Miss Alma Cherry of Spooner, Wis., and three sons, Ira, Claude and Clair Cherry of Riceville, Ia., all of whom with the bereaved husband survive her. She is also survived by by two brothers, F. E. Jordan of Chicago, Ill., and E. E. Jordan of Strawberry Point. Her father died Feb. 22, 1885, her mother March 8, 1913, and sister, Mrs. Carrie Benson, April 27, 1912. Her early religious training was in the Congregational church at Strawberry Point, from which her earthly remains will be consigned by the side of her departed loved ones in the beautiful Strawberry Point cemetery. Mrs. Cherry was a genial, unassuming, kind-hearted woman. Her life was filled with good deeds and unselfish service and all her ways were those of pleasantness.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational church Saturday forenoon conducted by Rev. Maxwell.
