Clayton County Register, Thur., 28 Dec. 1933.
GUTTENBERG: William Minger, life-long highly regarded resident of this community, died at his home in Guttenberg on Monday at 12:00 noon, at the age of 61 years, three months and 27 days. He had been in poor health for about four years when death called him. Mr. Minger was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, on Aug. 28, 1872, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Minger, deceased. A number of years ago he came here to make his home, following the carpenter trade. He was employed at the local canning factory for some time. Mr. Minger was never married. He was a good citizen and true friend, and stood for justice and righteousness at all times. During his illness he was a patient sufferer. All that could be done for him to save his life was done, but all to no avail. His death is deeply mourned by one brother, Albert, of Guttenberg; three sisters, Miss Amanda Minger of Guttenberg; Mrs. Augusta Kickbusch of St. Joe, Idaho, and Mrs. Frank Leigh of Hopkins, Minn., and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. D. D. Welch, of Dubuque, at the Minger home here this (Thursday) afternoon, with interment in the City cemetery.
