Clayton County Register, Thur., 09 Nov. 1933.

MONONA: Mrs. Emil Schiff, aged 35, died Monday morning at the Schiff home after several years illness. Surviving are the widower, Emil Schiff; three sisters, Mrs. John Kolke, Canby, Minnesota, Mrs. Lawrence Morris, Claremont, S.D., and Mrs. Ed. Bowman of Kidder, S.D.; four brothers, William Topel of Monona, Charles Topel of Newark, S.D., Emil Topel of Claremont, S.D., and Loius Topel, Kidder, S.D.; and her aged father, August Topel who made his home with her. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church, a good wife and daughter. There are also three other children, Burnell Schiff of Monona, and Mrs. Walter Kurth and Mrs. Sidney Chickering of Waukon.

The large attendance at her funeral showed the high esteem to which she was held.
