Funeral services for John Glennon were held Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at Sacred Heart church at Cox Creek. Rev. Father Boyle, pastor, read the requiem mass, assisted by Rev. D. P. Cregan of this place. Interment was made in Cox Creek cemetery, with Rev. Cregan reading the prayers. The casket bearers were James Bergan, C. E. Puffett, P. H. Quinn, John Hock and William Byrnes.
Mr. Glennon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Glennon, was born Nov. 1, 1861, and died October 12, 1933, at his home four miles south of here. He spent his entire life of 72 years on the old homestead. He has suffered from a paralytic stroke for the past three months, during which time everything possible was done to relieve his suffering.
Deceased was a devout Catholic and a member of the Sacred Heart church of Cox Creek. During his long illness he was a patient sufferer, never complaining and even to the day of his death he greeted his relatives and friends with his good-natured smile. He was a kind, honest and big-hearted man, devoted to his home, where he will be sadly missed by his relatives and friends.
Surviving are a sister, Mary; four brothers, Patrick, William and Peter, of Volga, and Timothy of Strawberry Point; also a number of nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, Michael and James, and two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Conboy and Mrs. Michael Hannon, preceded him in death.
