Clayton County Register, Thur., 05 Oct. 1933. Monona column.
J. William Kister, aged 61 years, died about five-thirty Friday afternoon after a several days illness. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Alice Marie Kister of Davenport, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Schrody of Cedar Falls. A son, Joseph Kister, died last year. Funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Rev. Father Luke Donlon read the mass of requiem and officiated at the grave in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. Mr. Kister was a quiet unassuming man, a good Christian and a true friend.
