Clayton County Register, Thur., 31 Aug. 1933. Monona column.

Mrs. John Schlitter, aged 40 years, died Saturday evening at the Schlitter home after several months illness. Funeral services were held at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home and 1:30 from the Pilgrim Evangelical church, the Rev. G. Theodore Vieth officiating. Surviving are the widower, John Schlitter, and seven children, her mother, Mrs. Louis Henkes; five brothers, Oscar Henkes of Farmersburg, Clarence Henkes of McGregor, Albert, Lester and Everette Henkes of Monona, and two siaters, Mrs. Walter Miller of Froelich and Mrs. Harvey Kuthe of Farmersburg. The sympathy of the entire community is extended the family.

(Note: WPA records indicate Mabel A. Schlitter, 1892 - 1933, buried in Monona cemetery.)
