Clayton County Register, Thur., 20 Feb. 1933. Monona column.

Mrs. Hester E. Egbert, aged 81 years, died early Thursday morning at her home after several months illness. Surviving are one son, Raymond Egbert, one brother, David Tapper of Cedar Rapids, and a sister. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the first Methodist church, the Rev. Louis H. Joslin officiating, with burial in the city cemetery beside her husband. Mrs. Egbert was a real friend, a wonderful mother, beloved by all. She was a true Christian and many are the deeds of kindness performed during her lifetime. Monona gas lost one of her many settlers and a splendid citizen.
