Word was received Tuesday of the death of Edward Kuenzel, which occurred at Davenport. The body was brought here Wednesday afternoon and the funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the W. B. Kuenzel home.
Edward Christopher Kuenzel was born April 23, 1866, at Garnavillo, the son of the miller, John Henry Kuenzel, and his wife Anna Adelaide, nee Mohrman. He was christened at St. Paul's church by Rev. F. Rentsch and confirmed by Rev. Fuerchtenicht. Attended the Garnavillo public schools. After he had grown to manhood at Garnavillo, he entered a real estate and banking business at Lincoln, Nebr. After following this profession for a number of years, he removed to Cleveland, Ohio, and made his home with his brother Fred and sister Maria for a period of about ten years. From there he removed to Davenport, Iowa, and spent the last years at the home of his sister, Mrs. Joseph Walleser. He died after a brief illness last Tuesday morning at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 25 days. Mr. Kuenzel is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Harberg, Garnavillo, and his brother, C. Henry, of Dubuque. Seven other brothers and sisters have preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuenzel of Dubuque and Mr. Joseph Walleser were here to attend the funeral.
