Clayton County Register, Thur., 02 Mar. 1933. Clayton column.
Mary Elizabeth Ricker was born at Graham, Feb. 27, 1899, and died Feb. 19, 1933, at the age of 33 years, 11 months and 20 days. She lived all of her life in Clayton county except 18 months in Cassville, Wis. Although Mary was a semi-shut-in, she attended the Clayton school for a number of years and graduated in May, 1917. Mary was always cheerful and happy. She was brought to the knowledge of her need of a Savior in 1918, and on March 14, 1918, accepted the Lord as her Savior and was identified with him in baptism on Aug. 18, 1918. Since then she has lived so that all could see she had Christ in her life and sought to please him in every way. Her daily life at home or among her friends showed her to have a beautiful Christian character and here in her own words is the way she expressed it:
"I will tell you how I came Hallelujah to Jesus when he made me whole Halleluah. It was believing on his name, Hallelujah. I trusted and he saved my soul."
Mary had a host of relatives and friends by whom she will be missed. She leaves to mourn her passing her aged parents and two sisters, Mrs. Odessa Troester of Osterdock and Mrs. V. C. Hauschen of Dubuque.
Out-of-town relatives who attended Mary Ricker's funeral were: Mrs. Thos. Finney and son of Cassville, Wis.; Mrs. Orlo Taylor and daughter of Glen Haven, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Graybill of Fairbanks, Iowa, and Wm. Graybill of Independence, Iowa.
Mrs. Harry McKinley and Miss Irene Ostoff and friend of Darlington attended Miss Ricker's funeral.
