Henry Meyer, son of Henry Meyer and Frederika Meyer, nee Schwab, was born on February 23, 1860, in Elkport, Iowa. In infancy he was made a child and heir of his Lord and Saviour through Holy Baptism.

Deceased was reared on a farm near Littleport and was with his parents up to the age of 36, after his father had passed away he was taken to the county hospital, where he remained up to his passing.

He was ailing since last spring and passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, at four o'clock a.m.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his twin brother, Wm. Meyer of Littleport; one sister, Mrs. Augusta Zahrndt, of Elkader. He reached the age of 68 years, nine months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by three sisters, of which two died in infancy in Germany, and Mrs. Dora Heiden near Osborne, thirty years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Littleport, Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment was made in Union cemetery, Rev. F. E. Damm officiating.
