Mrs. Dorothea Lundt passed away at her home in Strawberry Point, August 3, 1928, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 17 days.
She was born in Germany on November 16, 1856, and later came to America with her parents and brothers and sisters, where they settled on a farm on Bear Creek in Elk township. On March 17, 1874, she was united in marriage to Frederich Lundt. They made their home in Volga township, where six children, three sons and three daughters were born to them. The youngest daughter, Mrs. Wm. Wistrick, died several years ago. The others are: Paul, of St. Paul Park, Minn.; Fred, of Strawberry Point; and Ed., living on the old homestead; Mrs. Wm. Schnack, of Moline, Ill.; and Mrs. Wm. Baars, Elkader. In 1914 they moved to Elkport, then later they resided in Strawberry Point, where Mr. Lundt died.
The funeral services were held Sunday, August 5, with Rev. Anderson, of Garber, officiating. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery, the following being pallbearers: Henry Wenkstern, Chris Wentz, Fred Wistrick, Geo. Ruegnitz and C. D. Beck.
