Mrs. Anna Eckert, a resident of Allamakee county, near Waukon, died at her home, Saturday, Dec. 10, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 8 days. The cause of death was paralysis. Anna Nickolai, was born in New Bavaria, Germany, Aug. 2, 1826, and was united in marriage to Christian Eckert, at Guttenberg, Ia., in 1856, her husband having preceded her to the grave in 1878. Surviving are two sons and three daughters and also a sister, Mrs. Wm. Theiss, of this city. The remains were brought here from Waukon, Monday, and the funeral occurred Tuesday morning from St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. J. Janzig officiating. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
