Rudolph Hasler was born in Germany in the year 1840, and died in his home in this city on Friday last, aged about seventy years.
His death was the result of a fall from the second story of St. Joseph's new school building, reported last week. Deceased came to the United States in the year 1866, and three years later was united in marriage with Catharine Tujetsch, and to them were born two children, one of whom, and its mother, died in the year 1872, the other Mrs. J. L. Schneider, is a resident of this city, with whom the deceased made his home.
In 1878 the subject of this sketch was again united in marriage with Mrs. Severin Hasler, who preceded him to the grave more than two years. Mr. Hasler had lived an industrious and upright life and was therefore esteemed by neighbors and friends and loved by his kindred. The people of this vicinity were shocked and pained when they learned of his tragic death, and he will be missed and mourned by all. Besides his daughter, he is survived by several grandchildren and many friends.
