Herman Reinhardt died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Reinhardt, on upper Second Street, at 9:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9th, aged 15 years, 11 months and 1 day. While wading in the river and gathering clams north of town Thursday afternoon, he complained of severe headache and was brought home by a companion. During the night he had convulsions, accompanied by nausea. In the morning a physician was called, who found that he had acute appendicitis. His head was drawn back, convulsions became more violent and he finally passed away. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at St. John's Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. J. Janzig. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
