It has been a long time since this community has been thrown into such general sympathy as it was Saturday when it was learned that little Howard Shieck had passed away early that morning. It was but Friday noon that he was over town with his father. The little fellow was taken sick about five o'clock and died about three the next morning, leaving his illness of about a few hours duration. Howard was born August 6th, 1906, and departed from this earthly life July 9th, 1910. Everything was done for the little fellows that mortal hands could do, but it was of no avail and the spirit took its flight to leave here a father, mother and grandfather, but not alone, for kind friends and sympathy were quickly with them. Howard was always an affectionate child and especially so the day that he was taken sick. He ran to meet them all with outstretched arms and left a sweet kiss upon the cheeks of those whom he loved. The home is so lonely without him, but with acheing hearts they are resigned to the will of Him who doeth all things well. We know that he is in the heavenly home waiting for their coming. The last services were held at the Presbyterian church Monday morning, the Rev. Healy, assisted by Rev. Kellar officiating. Interment was made in Lamont.
(A card of thanks was signed by Mr. and Mrs. Watson Shieck.)
