Mrs. John Lindenbauer, nee Sophie Marie Dorothea Schrampfer, was born in Oberdorf, Wurtemberg, Germany, Dec. 25th, 1825.
In 1851 she was married to John Lindebauer and in 1853 came to America. They lived in Rochester, N.Y., and in Wisconsin for a time. Later they came to Clayton County, living on a farm in Highland township for several years. As the years crept upon them they finally gave up their farm and have since lived with their children. Mrs. Linderbauer passing away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Barske, on Tuesday evening, aged 84 years, 5 months and 26 days.
She leaves an aged husband, four children and thirteen grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. Rosa Barske, Mrs. Lydia Leuchtenmacher; and Mrs. Caroline Schrampfer, of this county; and one son, Herman Lindenbauer, of Hartford, Texas.
The funeral services were held this afternoon in the German church, Rev. Franke officiating. Interment in the East Side cemetery.
