Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 05 May 1910. Guttenberg column,

Christoph Walter died at his farm home, southwest of Guttenberg, Tuesday, April 27th, from Tuberculosis, after a prolonged illness, aged 56 years, 5 months and 8 days. Deceased was born November 19, 1873, and was married to Miss Louisa Borcherding April 5, 1899. He is survived his wife, one daughter and three sons, besides two sisters, Mrs. Charles Backes, of Jefferson township, and Mrs. August Dannebring, of Sioux City. The funeral will be held Sunday at 1:00 o'clock p.m., with services at St. John's Lutheran church. Interment will be in the City cemetery.
