Charlotte Suckow, nee Matull, was born in Grassicko, Argermuendo, East Prussia, on Oct. 13th, 1855. On July 3rd, 1881, she was united in marriage to Herman Suckow. Five children were born to this union, two dying in infancy, Herman dying at the age of 15 years, and Helmuth and Amanda at home. In 1885 they came to America, settling in Garnavillo township and later moving to Farmersburg township, where they have lived for twenty-three years. She has been a patient sufferer since last September and some time ago underwent an operation receiving no help. She returned to her home where on Monday, April 25th, she died, at the age of 54 years, 8 months and 12 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, son and daughter, all other relatives having preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church Thursday afternoon, Rev. Braun officiating.
