Thy chair is vacant, dear one,
And Oh! we'll miss thee here,
Thou were a loving wife,
Daughter and sister dear.
Through sickness and in trouble
Thy hands were never still
But here and there thy presence
Was sincerely felt.
Thy station at life's ending.
Was reached before the noon -
We'll follow thy example
And meet thee, perhaps soon.
