Mrs. Margaret Friedlein a pioneer resident in the vicinity of Osterdock passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Miller, at Waverly, with whom she had been making her home in recent years, death being due to old age. Deceased was a native of Germany and the date of her birth was Jan. 18, 1828. She came to America in an early day and was numbered among the earliest settlers of this part of the county. The remains were brought back to Osterdock for burial, which takes place in the family cemetery in Millville township Friday, Jan. 14th, Rev. Hirsch officiating. Surviving are three sons and three daughters, viz: Henry and Lewis, of Millville twp.; Lizzie, of Avery, Okla.; Maggie, of Fontanelle, Ia.; Caroline, of Waverly; and Charles, of Osterdock.
