Edward Frank Partch was born in New York Feb. 21st, 1849, and died at Strawberry Point, Iowa, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 25 days. Mr. Partch came west with his parents to Elkader, Iowa, in 1854 and grew to manhood. He was married at Elkader July 29th, 1872, to Miss Leodley Maxwell, of Cox Creek township, Clayton County, Iowa. He resided in Elkader about one year, then, with his family, moved to Des Moines and lived at that place about two years, then moved to his farm and lived there 38 years - the rest of his life - excepting the last year, when he lived in Strawberry Point. He leaves to mourn, besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Fremont Pugh, of Strawberry Point, Iowa; five orphan children, namely, George Partch, of Chicago; Edward Partch, of New York; Harry, Edna and Walter Kingsland, of New York; one brother, Wilber, of Marshalltown; one sister, living in Hooper, Washington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral services occurred at the Baptist church Monday forenoon, conducted by Rev. Bailey. The remains were laid to rest in our beautiful cemetery.
