Ray Bickel, a young farmer living on the Benzing farm, near Beulah, met with a horrible accident while hulling clover at the Geo. Heileman place last Monday afternoon. While attempting to put the belt on the pully wheel of the engine, the machine in some manner started backward, carrying the young man over the drive wheel and crushing him against the side of the engine. After being taken from the machine he was carried to the house, where medical aid was summoned, but the injuries sustained proved fatal and he passed away at 9 o'clock that evening. He leaves a widow and several small children.
